The flagship surface
The side panel that
actually keeps up.
Most capture tools pop a window that closes the moment your workflow changes tabs. Worksnip lives in Chrome's official Side Panel — it follows your window, survives navigation, and stays out of your way.

Why side panel, not popup
Because workflows don't fit in a popup.
A typical software walkthrough hops across multiple pages, sometimes through embedded frames. A popup dies on page two. Worksnip lives in Chrome's official Side Panel — the one surface that survives all of it.
That's why every click lands exactly where it should, even when the workflow crosses tabs or frames. The panel persists; your capture context persists with it.
What it captures
Six event types. One coherent timeline.
| Event | What it captures |
|---|---|
| click | A pixel-perfect spotlight on the actual button you clicked — accurate even inside embedded frames. |
| input | The field name and value, with sensitive data automatically masked before it leaves your browser. |
| keydown | Modifier-aware keystrokes when they matter, ignored when you are just typing into a text field. |
| change | Selects, date pickers, file pickers — both the change event and the new value. |
| navigate | Page transitions, deep links, and tab moves — so the timeline stays continuous. |
| scroll | Recorded only when scrolling reveals something new on the page, never every micro-movement. |
Privacy & redaction
Two layers, both on by default.
LAYER 1 — IN YOUR BROWSER
Sensitive data is masked before the screenshot ever leaves your machine. Built-in patterns cover credit cards, emails, phone numbers, government IDs. Add your own per-organization rules.
LAYER 2 — ON UPLOAD
A second redaction pass runs on every uploaded screenshot — catching what patterns missed (handwritten notes, free-form text fields).
